Whether you’re just moving to San Diego or have lived here for years and just invested in your first recreational vehicle, you have plenty of options to spend a weekend in the RV with your family. We recently picked the brains of the RV storage specialists at our San Diego location, and these are their top five destinations.
- Santa Fe Park RV Resort
Located just off of 55, Santa Fe Park RV resort is a medium-sized RV community with a large pool and plenty of sites that let you pick where you want to park. Spacious RV pads and quick access to downtown make this the perfect place to meet, mingle, and then spend an evening enjoying the nightlife with your weekend neighbors.
- Fiddler’s Cove Mari & RV Park
If you’re a member of the military, you’ll find Fiddler’s Cove about 30 minutes south of your RV storage space. Located well within the confines of San Diego, this is the place for veterans and active military to relax and unwind. Exceptional views, proximity to the beach, and an on-site convenience store round out the reasons to visit this peaceful destination.
- San Diego Metro KOA
Like Fiddler’s Cove, San Diego Metro KOA is only about half an hour from your RV storage space. Located just outside of the city limits in Chula Vista, you’ll be mere minutes from the zoo, Sea World, and hundreds of other activities. Have a pet? Spot is welcome as are children and RVs up to 70 feet long. To unwind, you’ll also find an on-site café, hot tub, sauna, and sparkling pool.
- Campland On The Bay
Really, the name says it all. With sites dotted along Mission Bay, you’ll find more than 500 spaces for both RV and tent camping. As long as your RV is 45 feet or less, you can easily secure yourself a spot and enjoy the on-site beach and bayfront views. If you have a boat, Campland offers an on-site marina along with a full-service bar and cantina.
- San Elijo State Beach
San Elijo State Beach campground is the perfect example of why RVs are so popular throughout the San Diego area. Just about 20 minutes north east of our secure RV storage facility, this spot offers the best of the outdoors, including ocean swimming and surfing. And, if you need to buy a boogie board, the on-site general store has you covered. If you’re bringing pets, grab a leash as dogs are welcome in the park and on the beach.
Most people think that they’ll take their RV across the country. Fortunately the way gas prices are these days, you don’t have to if you live in San Diego. In addition to great RV storage, you have access to plenty of campgrounds that will keep your family at ease and entertained every weekend on demand.
